Dr. Jennifer Poole, Co-Investigator

Jennifer or Jen Poole (she/her) identifies as a cis, white, first generation settler to T’karonto. She was part of the first cohort of the Decolonizing Education Program at the Centre for Indigegogy and has been finding her way back to spirit and out of a deep colonial coma ever since. In her professional life, she is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Ryerson University where her work sits at the intersection of oppression, madness and mental/health. While supporting and companioning learners is her professional priority, current re-search projects focus on settler sanism in the helping professions, the effects of white supremacy on grief and loss as well as interrupting colonialism in pedagogy and research. She is a bonus Mom, a peer supporter, a TEDx talker and a very silly aunt. She is happiest outside.
